Telegraph Invests in Virtual Infrastructure
The Telegraph
Media Group has placed an order with London based server and storage
infrastructure specialist Transam Microsystems
"The order comprises a flexible Virtual IT Infrastructure based on
VMware for server virtualisation and DataCore for storage
virtualization".
said Dale Hyde of Transam Microsystems Ltd,
a
Datacore and VMware Enterprise Partner
Around sixty servers
are to be consolidated onto six VMware ESX host servers, a DataCore
SANsymphony
virtualized storage platform is to be added to the existing fibre
channel SAN to enable new and existing storage resources to be pooled
together and data replicated between different models of storage array
over two sites. An additional benefit of the virtualized storage
platform is that it will enable the migration of data and systems with
minimal (effectively zero) downtime from the groups current Canary Wharf
offices to the new facility in Victoria that they will move into during
the autumn.
Transam has been a
valued partner of The Telegraph Group for five years and continues to
deliver high quality services and innovative and effective IT solutions.
