Blade Servers - Citrix - VMware - Linux
Transam is pleased to present, in partnership with HP, a range of briefing
sessions covering the following:
1.
HP Blade Systems in detail
2.
VMware in a Blade Environment
3.
Linux Solutions on Blade Platforms
The Blade Systems in detail session is entirely focused on providing you
with a comprehensive understanding of the HP Blade Server offering. The
Agenda includes:
-
The Business case for Blade Systems;
-
An opportunity to view and understand the physical components of blade
systems, including a visit to a technology lab where systems are deployed,
including SAN attachment;
-
A presentation of the comprehensive choice of server specifications,
Ethernet and Fibre Channel switching options;
-
power distribution
choices;
-
Discussion of power and heat issues
(Note: Blades are generally more
efficient in use of power and therefore cost less to run and generate less
heat for an equivalent CPU specification);
-
Consideration of AMD Opteron vs. Intel Xeon;
-
When not to use Blades;
-
Live presentation and demonstration of management tools including Rapid
Deployment.
The VMware and Linux sessions
incorporate a cut down version of the
blade presentation, and focus instead on the deployment of each of these
technologies. For instance the VMware session will include a live
demonstration of the impressive VMotion technology (moving a running virtual
machine, with connected users, from one physical server to another)
If you are interested in any of these solutions, but do not plan to deploy
on a blade platform, the session will still have significant value.
