Implementing a Virtual Infrastructure in
2007
The Magic Mix –
Making
Virtualisation Work For You
In 2006 we explained the benefits
of IT
virtualisation. However, many organisations will be wondering how
to implement virtualised platforms. In 2007 we will focus on the steps
you need to take to make it work for you. As a leading consultancy in
this area Transam is well placed to help you realise the benefits of
this technology, be it in storage, backup, server performance or remote
access.
You are invited to join us at what will
be a most stimulating event. The programme will include short
breakout sessions to discuss matters relevant to your business.
These will be targeted at those who: are new to VMware; are experienced
with VMware; already have a high-end SAN; already have a low- to
mid-range SAN (perhaps without replication capability); have no Shared
Storage. See section
below agenda for more information.
This event is for you if you are
-
looking to
virtualise your data centre
-
familiar
with the basics of server virtualisation but want to learn more
-
looking
into cost-effective, flexible DR and business continuity solutions
-
considering data
replication solutions
-
already
deploying
SANs but want to enhance their functionality
-
considering deploying shared storage solutions, including SAN/NAS.

VMware and Virtual IT Infrastructure
VMware virtual
infrastructure simplifies IT so that companies can leverage
their storage, network and computing resources to control costs
and respond faster. The VMware virtual infrastructure approach
to IT management creates virtual services out of the physical IT
infrastructure, enabling administrators to allocate these
virtual resources quickly to the business units that need them
most.
Hardware management
is completely separated from software management, and hardware
equipment can be treated as a single pool of processing, storage
and networking power to be allocated and de-allocated on the fly
to various software services. In a virtual infrastructure, users
see resources as if they were dedicated to them while the
administrator manages and optimises resources globally across
the enterprise.
The VMware virtual
infrastructure architecture enables businesses to lower IT costs
through increased efficiency, flexibility and responsiveness.
Managing a virtual infrastructure allows IT to quickly connect
and manage resources to business needs.
DataCore
and Virtual Storage
DataCore Software is a leading
independent software vendor specialising in storage control, storage
management, and storage consolidation. Small to medium enterprises, Global
2000 data centres and storage OEMs rely on DataCore's comprehensive product
family to easily expand capacity, protect and enhance access to data, and
centralise and automate storage administration for Windows, UNIX, Linux,
MacOS, VMware, and NetWare systems.
DataCore will focus on Network
Storage Virtualisation, Data Replication and Disaster Recovery and
Virtual Storage Infrastructure to complement Virtual Servers.
Vizioncore and Monitoring Backup Performance
Founded in 2002 Vizioncore
is a leading provider of innovative dynamic performance-monitoring,
migration and disaster recovery software applications that enhance
VMware Infrastructure. Of particular interest are Vizioncore’s esxReplicator, which provides host-level replication
of virtual machines and esxMigrator, which supports automated migration
to the VMware Infrastructure 3.
PlateSpin and Automation
of the Streamlining Process
PlateSpin has helped thousands
of customers worldwide accelerate their server consolidation and disaster
recovery projects by enabling freedom of movement between physical servers,
virtual machines and image archives. PlateSpin provides the most advanced
data centre automation software designed to optimise the use of server
resources across the enterprise to improve business service levels and lower
costs. PlateSpin’s technology liberates software from hardware platforms,
allowing servers to be streamed over the enterprise network from any source
to any destination. This freedom of movement ensures the best fit between
server resource supply and application workload demands. In this seminar
PlateSpin will show you how to automate the Virtualised Infrastructure.
The
Magic Mix
The flexibility, capability and
value for money that a virtual IT infrastructure delivers makes for a
compelling strategy, viewed from either the business or technical perspective.
Virtual Infrastructure specialist Transam, in partnership with VMware,
DataCore, Vizioncore
and PlateSpin, is
presenting a unique view on how the latest products from VMware and
its partners are applied to storage, backup and performance
management, and how they will bring tangible business benefits to
your IT infrastructure.
