- Transam has worked on two projects in
the last year. The first was to improve management of Citrix servers,
particularly in the deployment and use of printers. We supplied Tricerat
'Simplify Printing' technology to achieve this.
We have also helped
the client develop a high-end SAN at commodity hardware prices using
DataCore SANsymphony software. This provides a shared pool of storage,
synchronously replicated (mirrored) over three sites.

Agency - Over the past two years
Transam has supplied the agency with server and storage infrastructure
to support a web-facing information management system. The system is a
three tier architecture running Oracle Application Server and 9iRAC
database on Red Hat Enterprise Linux. Over 100 servers plus two HP EVA
storage arrays, together with various other related products and
services are deployed as part of the project.

Health & Education - During 2004
& 2005 Transam worked in partnership with this Institute to design and
deliver an Active Directory environment for about 3,000 users. This work
was recently supplemented with a two tier Microsoft Exchange solution,
again supporting around three thousand users. The users were migrated
from a mixture of UNIX and Lotus based mail systems. As a result of the
success of this project the main body of college email users will also
be migrated to Microsoft Exchange during 2006.
Previously Transam
has supplied two Compaq/HP Enterprise Modular Storage Arrays, and campus
wide HP ProCurve switch architecture. Transam has supplied two
significant phases of network infrastructure, wired and wireless, both
based on HP ProCurve technology, plus a 50KW UPS solution to support two
small data rooms.
Recently VMware ESX
has been deployed as a first step towards server consolidation and
flexible infrastructure.
